Shape: body of slender proportions without sharp transition at the shoulder. Cylindrical neck flaring slightly towards the top with a flat rim. Two side-handles with round section are fixed on the top of the body. A vertical strap handle is fixed on the rear under the rim and on the shoulder, and is decorated with a little spool fixed at the top. Dropped floor.
Lip rim: three lines on the top of the rim and a large band on the internal edge; vertical side of the rim painted all around with thick oblique strokes.
Neck: wide band on the top and a thinner one at the base of the neck; on the central part, large laurel wreath with large and small leaves; junction in the middle by a vertical line of dots.
Shoulder: row of drops on the top of the shoulder with a thin line below, followed by a laurel branch with buds and seed.
Upper and lower frame: wide band with fine fillets above and below.
Front panel: divided into two parts: ivy garland with small leaves and berries without stalk on the upper part; palmettes with scrolls on the lower part, and some berries(?).
Vertical strips: straight lines alternating with wavy lines.
Rear panel: scroll pattern with small ivy leaves.
Handles: large horizontal strokes on the vertical handle and the spool; large vertical strokes on side handles; a taenia is painted above the side handles.
Foot: black, with a thin reserved band at the base.
The vase has not received any specific shape number in the Enklaar classification, but it is placed in the group of vases belonging to shapes L9 to L15. It is identified by A. Enklaar as a product of the Wavy Line Painter in the second part of his production, which can be dated between 213 (a date provided by the inscription on the hydria 90.9.13 in New York) and circa 200 BCE.
